National Parks Service Hosts Winter Owl Prowl

This Saturday, Feb. 18, from 6:30 to 10 p.m., the National Parks Service is hosting its Winter Owl Prowl at the Chattahoochee River Environmental Education Center. This event includes a campfire, night hikes and live owl programs courtesy of the Chattahoochee Nature Center.

Participants will enjoy roasting marshmallows around the campfire, listening to ranger stories and songs, drinking special ranger hot cider, making children’s crafts in the lodge, and the nocturnal sights, sounds, and beauty of the Chattahoochee on a ranger guided night hike.

They can also take an Owl IQ Test, meet live owls, and learn fascinating facts and fables about the owls of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. Live owl programs are courtesy of the Chattahoochee Nature Center, a National Park Service partner. Dressing for the weather, comfortable hiking shoes and a flashlight are suggested.
