Bears Spotted in McGinnis Ferry Neighborhood

A group wanders through a residential area.

A group of bears has been spotted off McGinnis Ferry Road, drawing notice from homeowners and sightseers alike.

According to media reports, a group of four bears -- possibly a mama bear and her cubs -- have been spotted in and around the Shakerag Farms subdivsion in the Forsyth County area of Suwanee.

"I'm not sure if they were searching for food or what they were doing," Shakerag Farms resident Rob Moravek told 11alive.com. "They could have just been trying to find a way out of the subdivision."

Moravek's home surveillance cameras recorded the bears on the subdivision streets.

Also, seems one of the bears climbed a tree in a wooded area nearby, while the others rolled on their backs.

Of course, it's not uncommon for bears to venture into residential areas in this area in a search for food.

A video of the bears in the Shakerag Farms subdivision is in this 11alive.com article.

A commenter on the Johns Creek Facebook page added a tweet from Fox5 News with a photo of the bears.
