American Girl Fashion Show to be Held in North Fulton Next Week

The show is the only American Girl sanction show in Georgia this year.

Roswell Dance Theatre is in the final stages of preparing the only American Girl Fashion Show in Georgia this year to debut at the Roswell DoubleTree Hotel ballroom, March 1-3.

The American Girl Fashion Show is a fun and educational event for girls and their families, friends and favorite dolls. Young ladies are invited to come dressed up like their favorite American Girl doll, which are sold locally at the American Girl Boutique & Bistro in North Point Mall in Alpharetta.

Audiences will enjoy a colorful presentation of historical and contemporary fashions for both girls and dolls, presented by 100 local 6- and 10-year-old girls in a tea-party style setting with elegant refreshments and dinner. Live commentary will give the audience girl-friendly pieces of fashion-related history that tie into the stories of the American Girl characters, as well as insight into how fashion can give girls a way to express their own unique personalities.

In the first part of the show, audiences will be delighted by historical clothing - from daywear to sleepwear and special occasion clothing - that resembles what the popular American Girl characters may have worn. Kaya, Caroline, Josephina, Marie-Grace and Cecile, Addy, Rebecca, Kit, Molly, Emily and Julie will come alive on stage.

The second half will focus on contemporary fashions. Girl of the Year, Saige, and My American Girl outfits for girls ages 8-years-old and up will be presented. Six-year-old models will complete the presentation with Bitty Baby Fashions.

All the girls in the audience will receive a gift bag and have a chance to win door-prizes and win auction baskets. Guests will have a chance to purchase event-related souvenirs, American Girl books and take pictures with a professional photographer, as well as order the 2013 contemporary fashions from the show.

While the event will be entertaining, it will also help worthwhile charitable causes, benefiting the Roswell Dance Theatre's children's charities. Roswell Dance Theatre is 501 c3 Non-Profit Organization.

Come and celebrate being a girl at the American Girl Fashion Show during one of six shows:

Friday, March 1 at 6 p.m.

Saturday, March 2 at 10 a.m., 2 p.m., and 6 p.m.

Sunday, March 3 at 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Guest Models Needed

One hundred local 6- and 10-year-old girls will be presenting the American Girl fashions, but Roswell Dance Theatre is still looking for guest models.

Guest models can be any size and age. They will be presented at the second half of the show. The girls will get a chance to walk the runway and they will be introduced by their first name, where they go to school and what their favorite activities and hobbies are.

There are only a few spots left for the Friday and Saturday shows only. The modeling opportunity is very popular so spots will go quickly. The cost is $30 and it includes a souvenir t-shirt.

If your child is interested in being a guest model, e-mail AmericanGirlFashionShowRoswell@gmail.com for availability. Find more information and purchase tickets to a fashion show on Roswell Dance Theatre’s website.
