5 Things You Need to Know Today: Feb. 7

1. State of the City. Mayor Mike Bodker will deliver his annual State of the City Address at the on Friday at 7:30 a.m. The event, hosted by the Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce and the Johns Creek Business Association, includes a breakfast buffet, the mayor's address, and a Q&A session. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased here or at the door.

2. Healthy Soul Food. The own Chef Lynn Ware begins a new series of cooking demonstrations. On tap this month is healthy soul food cooking, with tonight's class focusing on the history and basics. 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Free, but registration recommended.

Road Watch. Installation of new traffic signal at State Bridge at Publix/Target could cause lane closures and delays through Feb. 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Northbound lane of Johns Creek Parkway south of McGinnis-Ferry will be closed all day through Feb. 11 due to discovery of an unmarked, paved-over manhole. Expect delays.
