5 Things You Need to Know Today: April 18

1. Tax Day is Here. Procrastinators: You have until the post office closes today to get your tax filings postmarked. The deadline was extended to April 18 due to Washington D.C.'s Emancipation Day holiday falling on the 15th.

2. Need Tax Help? The  is offering  with federal and state taxes today, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Senior and low-income citizens will receive priority, but the service is open to everyone. 

3. Citizen Input NeededThe 30-day comment period for the Community Development Block Grant Program, a federal program that provides funding for community needs, started April 7. Public input will help the city assess needs. For more information on how to participate, click here.

4. Road Watch. Pavement patching on McGinnis Ferry Road at Seven Oaks Parkway, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting. Expect lane closures and temporary delays.
