5 Things You Need to Know Today: April 12

1. Need Tax Help? Tax Day on Friday is fast approaching. Need help? The  is offering  with federal and state taxes on Wednesday, 1-4 p.m. Senior and low-income citizens will receive priority, but the service is open to everyone. 

2. Spring Cleaning. Ready to get rid of some items? The City of Johns Creek and Keep Johns Creek Beautiful are sponsoring a bulky item recycling day on Saturday, April 16, at the Medlock Bridge Shopping Center, 6000 Medlock Bridge Parkway. This is not a trash day; rather, it's for items such as useable mattresses and appliances. A document shredder will also be on hand. For more information on permitted items, click here.

3. Easter Egg Hunt. Children ages 1 to 10 are invited to the city's Spring Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, April 17, at main soccer field. Activities including face-painting, moonwalk and pictures with the Easter Bunny begin at 12:30 p.m.; the hunt begins at 1:30 sharp.

4. Citizen Input NeededThe 30-day comment period for the Community Development Block Grant Program, a federal program that provides funding for community needs, started April 7. Public input will help the city assess needs. For more information on how to participate, click here.
