Shrek the Musical coming to The Milton Center!

Christian Youth Theater (CYT) opens its ninth season in the Atlanta area on November 8, 2013 with a production of Shrek the Musical!  The family-friendly theater performances will be held at The Milton Center (86 School Drive, Alpharetta), providing nine shows filled with singing, dancing and the grumblings of that “loveable” ogre, Shrek.

“We have tremendous talent in our cast,” comments Pat Valleroy, Artistic Director for CYT Atlanta.  “With over 80 performers from Johns Creek, Alpharetta, Milton and Cumming, we pull from over 7 high schools, 9 middle schools, and over 10 elementary schools.

”As other Atlanta-area programs have been forced to close their doors, the tradition of outstanding, CYT-produced shows such as Cinderella, Seussical the Musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Aladdin continues with Shrek the Musical thanks to the volunteer creative and technical staff as well as the student actors.  Morgan Matthews, Adam Shindler and Sarah Valleroy, accomplished performers who each have participated in more than fifteen CYT Atlanta shows, have been given the freedom to diversify their talents during this year’s performance, exploring the areas of technical support, on stage as Farquaad/Papa Ogre, and as an Assistant Choreographer respectively.

"I've been involved in CYT since I was 9 and have doing shows since 7th grade,” observes 17-year-old Shindler, Lord Farqaad himself.   “CYT has been such an important part of my life. It's kind of hard to imagine not being involved. This show is the funniest one we have done, by far."

Tickets for Shrek the Musical may be purchased at www.cytatlanta.com.  General admission and VIP seating are available for all shows.
