Hooch Cross Country Recyling Event Oct. 26

The Chattahoochee High School Cross Country booster club is sponsoring an electronics and paint recycling event Saturday, Oct. 26, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Chattahoochee High School.

Reworx will be providing electronics recycling and Atlanta Paint Disposal is the latex paint partner participating in the event.

Reworx is the electronics recycling program of Nobis Works, a Marietta-based company that develops and provides job training, employment and vocational support for youth and adults with disabilities and other barriers to employment. Since 1977, Nobis Works has helped more than 24,000 individuals with all types of disabilities enter or return to employment.

On Oct. 26, there will be a $5 per car donation to enter the parking lot and $10 charge per TV or monitor. All other electronics that will be recycled free of charge include laptops, computers, (hard drives will be shredded onsite), printers, copiers, scanners, fax machines, power/network cables, stereos, VCRs, phones and digital equipment.

Latex paints (no oil paint or aerosols) will be accepted for recycling at a $3 per gallon, $15 per 5-gallon can, $4 per 4-foot fluorescent tubes, $8 per 8-foot fluorescent tubes, $2 per CFL, $10 per auto battery and $10 per propane tank.
