When DST Ends, It's Time to Check Smoke Alarm Battery

After setting your clocks back one hour, remember it's time to check or replace the batteries in the smoke alarms in your home.

Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour Sunday, Nov. 3 when Daylight Savings Time ends.

And when you re-set your clock, be sure to check your smoke alarm battery at the same time, as many need replacing about every six months.

It's also a good time to check your carbon monoxide detector batteries. The Johns Creek Fire Department can inspect your smoke detectors.

Smoke alarms are a vital part of your family's safety. Do you know where your smoke detectors are located in your home?

Firefighters will visit your home, inspect your smoke detectors and look for obvious fire hazards and provide a Home Safety Checklist and free smoke detectors. Call 678-474-1641 to schedule a visit.
