Chattahoochee High School partners with Alpharetta High for Breast Cancer Awareness Night at football game
While the players from Chattahoochee and Alpharetta High Schools take the field to play a great game of football against one another, their schools and fans are partnering to win the fight against breast cancer. On Friday October 19th the Chattahoochee Cougars will face the Alpharetta Raiders at the Raider Stadium. Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month these schools are joining together to show support for breast cancer awareness.
Tim Duncan, principal of Chattahoochee High School fully supports the partnership between Alpharetta High and CHS. “As principal, I’m well aware of the great neighborhood rivalry between Chattahoochee and Alpharetta. I’m glad that for one night that we can use such a large event to unify the community by setting aside our team colors to focus on a disease that affects us all. So many of our competitions divide us, but finding a cure for cancer will take all of us working together.”
The entire Alpharetta stadium will be regaled in pink. Fans will be decked out in pink apparel and even the football players will wear pink tape on their equipment in support of this worthy cause. The marching bands from AHS and CHS are also uniting to play a special musical tribute. Proceeds from pink T-shirts will benefit breast cancer research.
We would like to honor all those survivors who have, and are, winning the battle against breast cancer. There will be a special recognition for all breast cancer survivors on the field at half-time. If you are survivor and would like to participate in this celebration of your strength and determination, kindly contact Ann Marx (firstname.lastname@example.org) by October 15.
