4th Annual Johns Creek Poetry Festival for Adults, Kids, Teens Nov. 17 at NE Library

The 4th Annual Johns Creek Poetry Festival will be held Saturday, Nov. 17th, at the NE/Spruill Oaks Library. Come meet new Poet Laureate of Georgia, Judson Mitcham, who will read a selection of his works. Children from Johns Creek and teens will read their poetry at 11 a.m. and 12:45 p.m., respectively in the Center of the Library and the Teen Center. A Teen Poetry Workshop by 92-year-old accomplished, "scintillating" poet Mildred Greear of Helen, GA, will be held in the Library's Teen Center at 11 a.m. Third and fourth graders from the Atlanta International Academy will conclude the program at 1 p.m. in the Meeting Room. The Northeast/Spruill Oaks branch of the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System is located off of Old Alabama Road. The library's advocacy group is Friends of Northeast/Spruill Oaks Library, which holds book club meetings in the library's Community Room. The library opened in 1999 and is adjacent to a wildlife habitat. It hosts a variety of classes and events for youth and adults.
