Wilson Creek students recently visited with Ronald McDonald as part of a character education campaign, entitled “Giving Back with Ronald McDonald.” 

The program emphasizes how anyone, regardless of age, can help others and their community by utilizing their time, talents and natural gifts. It addresses two pillars of good character: Caring and Citizenship. 

Through magic, music and puppetry, kids are led to understand the positive impact they can have by serving, recycling, treating others with respect, and sharing their individual abilities and resources. In his warm, fun way, Ronald helps kids understand the meaning of “empathy.”  The theme of “Giving Back” reminds children to have compassion for others, which in turn minimizes participation in bullying.
