Northview High School hosted the Georgia High School Fencing League individual championships on Saturday, Feb. 4. The Northview Titans placed four fencers in the top eight to medal.

Senior Patrick Zhou won silver, losing gold to Angad Singh of Milton High School in the men’s final. Andy Huang and Matthew Do of Northview shared bronze while Dave Williams of Northview placed sixth.  

Katie Van Riper of Pope High School defeated Caitlin Stanton of Alpharetta High School in the women’s epee final to win gold. Stanton was awarded the silver medal while Laura Anderson of Roswell High School and Julie Zhang of Johns Creek High School each received bronze.  

Both Northview men and women qualified for the team championships this upcoming Saturday at Chattahoochee High School. Northview men will defend their league title against Pope, Johns Creek and Roswell High Schools. Northview women will be competing for medals against Alpharetta, Pope and Chattahoochee high schools.
