Johns Creek Foundation Funds Symphony Performance

Johns Creek Foundation presents grant to Johns Creek Symphony that allowed for free community concert.

The Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra says it is thankful for a grant from the Johns Creek Foundation that allowed it to perform a free concert for the community.

Through grant funds provided by the Johns Creek Foundation, the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra was able to present a free concert during the Johns Creek Arts Festival on Oct. 27.

“The JCSO is honored to have the support of the Johns Creek Foundation, and make possible our ability to bring to the community some of the world's greatest music performed by some of the greater metro area's best professional musicians. The Johns Creek Foundation recognizes the need for great culture and art as an enhancement to the quality of life here, in Johns Creek. We are delighted that we can play a major role in delivering these rich musical experiences to all of our area citizens,” J. Wayne Baughman, JCSO Director, said.

Executive Director of JCSO, Sue Haggerty, said, “Once again, we thank the Johns Creek Foundation for their support of the JCSO. Well aware of the impact great art has on any community, they have sought to focus on these needs for Johns Creek, and the results have been obvious and dramatic. When our mayor talks about what makes our community so special, he can proudly point to a professional symphonic orchestra based right here in Johns Creek. Now how many cities can claim that?”

Johns Creek Foundation Board Member and Treasurer, Rep. Lynne Riley (GA House District 50 – Johns Creek) said, “On behalf of the Johns Creek Foundation Board, we value the presence of arts in the Johns Creek community, and are pleased that we can have an opportunity to assist in bringing this performance to the residents.”
