Callan Gillison has signed a National Letter of Intent to play football at Lenior Rhyne University in Hickory, NC. Lenior Rhyne is football’s South Atlantic Conference Champion for 2011.
Gillison is a two-year varsity letterman in football, four-year letterman in wrestling and one-year letterman in track and field. Gillison was the starting center for Chattahoochee, Georgia’s 2010 Region 7AAAA State Championship football team and 2011 Region 7AAAA championship team. He has received numerous football recognitions, including 2011 First Team All State by the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association, First Team All Metro by the Atlantic Journal Constitution, First Team All Area, First Team All Neighbor, and he was honored by the North Fulton/Forsyth Touchdown Club as 2011’s Offensive Lineman of the Year. In addition, he was a member of the 2010 AT&T Georgia Junior All Star Bowl.
Gillison participates in Student Venture, an affiliate of Campus Crusade for Christ, is a member of FCA and is also involved with the Cougar to Cougar mentoring program. He plans to major in exercise science, focusing on physical therapy.
