Electronics, paint can be recycled at Chattahoochee High on Saturday, Oct. 27.
The Chattahoochee High School Cross Country Booster Club will be sponsoring an electronics and paint recycling event Saturday, Oct. 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at CHS.
Some of the electronics that may be recycled include TVs, computers, laptops, monitors, printers, copiers, scanners, fax machines, stereos, VCRs, phones, power/network cables and digital equipment. Hard drives will be securely wiped clean by Reworx, Hooch Cross Country's electronics recycling partner. Other than a $5 fee for each TV and monitor, all other electronics disposals will be free.
In partnership with Atlanta Paint Disposal, the fees Hooch Cross Country will charge for the disposal of latex paint and other items include: $3 per gallon container, $15 per 5-gallon (no oil paint or aerosols), $4 per 4-foot fluorescent tubes, $8 per 8-foot fluorescent tubes, $2 per CFL, $10 per auto battery and $10 per propane tank.
Other than the above charges for disposal of hazardous materials, including leaded glass, there will be a $5 donation per car with proceeds going to the Cross Country Booster Club.
