Clinic to Teach Driving Safety to Teens

Gladiators Athletics Association & Teen Driving Safety Foundation holding clinic Feb. 22-24.

The Teen Driver Safety Foundation is bringing the nationally acclaimed New Driver Car Control Clinic® to Johns Creek High School. The clinic is a hands-on, behind-the-wheel program that teaches new drivers and their parents what to do when something goes terribly wrong in the traffic stream.

You can view the schedule at www.carcontrol.com.

According to the National Safety Council, one in four teens crash in their first year driving. And the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety reports that 85 percent of crashes involving a 16-year-old are caused by driver error.

Graduates of The New Driver Car Control Clinic had 77 percent fewer crashes than their peers, according to the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.

Each parent-student team attends an evening classroom session and a four-hour behind-the-wheel session on either Saturday or Sunday using the family’s or teen’s own car. The cost is $179 per team and includes a 64-page workbook.
