Cooper Davis is recognized by the Johns Creek City Council.

The Johns Creek City Council on Monday recognized 8-year-old Cooper Davis for an "Act of Bravery."
On July 2, Cooper, who was vacationing with his family in California, rescued an unconscious boy his own age by pulling him up from the bottom of a swimming pool. Cooper's father performed CPR on the child, and paramedics were able to revive him.
Cooper's honor came on the same night Fire Chief Jeff Hogan presented the city's new water safety video, and the city swim team, JCATS, were recognized for their recent wins at the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association State Swim Meet.

typical we call an 8 yo an hero when you have true heros who have many times given and put there lives on the line in the last 10 years for your freedom to do this in a foreign land.....no hero welcome here in JC for them!!! They are right in your own backyard just go look

Mr. Pletch,
Why do you find it necessary to denigrate a young boys heroic actions? He saved a life. That IS heroic. It IS deserving of recognition. His actions in no way take away from the heroism of those in our armed services. Do we do a good enough job recognizing and supporting our veterans? No, we collectively do not. But, we can only be responsible for our own actions and Mr. Pletch, yours are despicable. Shame on you.

Way to go, Cooper Davis. What you did was brave and heroic. You should be very proud of yourself. Keep up the good work. If you keep helping others in both big and small ways, you will go far!

To an 8 yr old a lifeless body is scary enough to swim away from and not say a word. Cooper was brave and saved a child. Well done Cooper!
