Camp Sunshine Kids Treated to Playtime at Monkey Joe's

on State Bridge Road was the place to be when the jump house hosted Camp Sunshine, an organization that provides support to cancer-stricken children and their families. For the second year, Monkey Joe's owners Susan and Andrew Atchison donated two free hours of playtime for some 17 families. "These children have to go through so much," Susan said. "But at least they can come here and enjoy a day of fun." Local restaurants such as Ruby Tuesdays, Mandarin House, The Patio, Stoney River, Zaxby's, Stevi Bs and Honey Baked Ham donated food and goodies for the children. Siblings were also invited to join in on the fun. "Cancer affects the entire family," said Lindsey Monroe, public relations coordinator for Camp Sunshine. "This is a chance for the families to be together."
