Lilburn Meth House Crumbles to the Ground - Lilburn-Mountain Park Patch

It took about a half-hour to remove the constant reminder of the tragedy that occurred last year in a Lilburn-area neighborhood.

The so-called Lilburn meth house, where three young children died in an explosion and fire in February 2011, has been torn down. In a couple of months, 1197 Spring Mill Drive will be a green field.

Demolition crews started at 9 a.m. sharp. By 9:35, Wednesday, the house at 1197 Spring Mill Drive was a pile of dusty rubble.

Woman Awakes to Burglar by Her Bed – Carterville Patch

A Cartersville woman awoke Monday to a noise caused by an alleged burglar riffling through her bed table drawers, according to a Bartow County Sheriff's Office report.

Stephanie Jane Papapetrou, 31, was detained by the victim and two other women until authorities arrived.

Authorities found several bags containing clothing, electronics and medication in the garage and outside a doorway. In all, the property belonging to the residents was valued at more than $4,500.

Papapetrou also allegedly broke into a car in the garage. She was charged with burglary and auto burglary and held to again bond on previous charges.

Lights, Camera, Action in Peachtree Corners – Peachtree Corners Patch

Instead of a wind-down day before the long Memorial Day weekend, a Peachtree Corners neighborhood was filled with actors, cameras and directors preparing to shoot a TV commercial.

The neighbors took it in stride, enjoying the moment as they watched the street crawling with some 35 film crew setting up cameras and props while some 15 actors waited in the shade nearby until they were called.

The commercials are being shot for an Alabama-chain of restaurants called Jack's Family Restaurants, so it's not likely anyone in the metro area will get a glimpse of the Avocet neighborhood on TV.
