UPDATE, Monday, 2:45 p.m.: Monday's city council meeting and work session have been canceled due to a lack of agenda items. The council will next meet for a work session on Aug. 20 at 5 p.m.
1. City Meetings. The Johns Creek City Council meets Monday at 5 p.m. at City Hall for its work session followed by its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Click here for agendas. Note that this week's Planning Commission has canceled its regularly scheduled monthly Tuesday meeting.
2. Meet Barnwell's Principal. The community has two chances this week to meet Dr. Norman Sauce, Barnwell Elementary's new principal, before school begins:
- Tuesday, 1 to 3 p.m., Northeast/Spruill Oaks Library
- Wednesday, 7 to 8:30 p.m., Country Club of the South clubhouse
3. Chamber Networking. The Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce hosts its weekly networking event Wednesday morning at 9:30 at Perimeter Church. The Chamber also hosts a Business After Hours this Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Country Club of the South.
4. 'Best' of Johns Creek. The nominations are in and polls are now open for Readers Choice 2012. You have until Aug. 19 to tell us who's the best in Johns Creek. We'll announce the results on Aug. 24.
